What we collect
We collect as little as the site can function on. In practice that means three things.
- What you send us. If you fill in the contact or application form, we receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to write.
- Technical information. Your browser sends a request that includes an IP address, a user-agent string and the page you asked for. Our host keeps these in server logs.
- Analytics, if you allow it. Aggregate counts of which pages get read. No cross-site tracking and no advertising identifiers.
Why we collect it
To reply to you, to keep the site running and secure, and to understand which pages are worth keeping. We do not sell personal data, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Cookies
The site sets one small item of local storage to remember your colour-theme choice and whether you dismissed the cookie notice. That never leaves your browser.
Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them. Declining costs you nothing — every page works the same either way, and you can change your mind by clearing site data.
Who we share it with
Only the suppliers needed to operate the site: a hosting provider, an email provider and, where enabled, an analytics provider. Each acts on our instructions under a written agreement. We disclose data to anyone else only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: two years after our last exchange
- Job applications: six months, unless you ask us to keep them longer
- Server logs: thirty days
- Analytics: aggregated, retained no longer than fourteen months
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to certain processing, or to receive it in a portable format. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
We answer these requests within thirty days and never charge for them.
Contacting us
Write to [email protected] or to the postal address on our contact page. A person reads it, not a queue.
